Sham Kamikaze

Sham Kamikaze (born Shamril Mohd Salleh) is a highly respected Malaysian guitarist, composer, and educator known for his versatility across rock, jazz, reggae, and pop. Growing up in a musical family, he began playing guitar at age 12 and formed his first bands by 14. He founded the rock band Kamikaze in 1999, achieving mainstream success with albums like Kontroversi and Inspirasi — the latter winning Best Rock Album in Malaysia. Beyond Kamikaze, Sham has contributed as a session musician for top local artists, taught at institutions such as Guitar Institute of Malaysia and Roland Music School, and led projects highlighting spiritual and creative growth after his personal journey of faith. He continues to influence Indonesian and regional guitarists with his tone, technique, and dedication.
